Condition Rating Guide
We grade the condition of every piece on a three-step scale: S, A and B.
| Rank | In short | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| S | Near new | Little sign of use and almost no scratches. |
| A | Good | Small scratches or marks you notice on a close look. |
| B | Used | Visible scratches, marks or stains, but fine for everyday use. |
Read the rank together with the condition details
Two pieces with the same rank can differ in where their marks are and how many there are. Check the condition details and photos on each product page to see exactly what is where. Every mark we describe is shown in the photos.
About patina on vachetta leather
The untreated vachetta leather used on Louis Vuitton handles and trim darkens with time and use, from pale beige to a deep honey colour. This is called patina. It is not damage, and many people look for it. We describe the degree of patina in the condition details and show it in the photos.
Odour and stickiness
If a piece has a noticeable storage odour, we say so in the condition details. We never mask it with fragrance. If the interior has become sticky, we always say so too.
